Himalaya mountain range in Pakistan
The Himalaya is a mountain range separating subcontinent from Tibetan plateau. The Himalaya is home to the world's highest peaks. Mount Everest is also here. The Himalayas cross five countries Pakistan ,India, Nepal, China and Bhutan. The greater Himalayas run from Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan to the Brahmaputra river
valley in northern India and Tibet, forming an area of 2,400 km long, which
varies in width from 400 km in Northern Pakistan to 150 km in the
eastern Tibet.

The western part of Himalaya is situated in Pakstan occupies Diamer and Astore districts of Gilgit Baltistan region and Kashmir. The highest peak is Nanga Parbat at an altitude of 8125 m above sea level. It is Pakistan's 2nd and world's 9th highest peak. It is also called killer mountain due to its highest fatality rate. The Rupal face of Nanga Parbat is world's highest rock wall.

The western Himalya is mainly dominated by Deosai plains which covers an area of more than 3000 square km. Deosai is world's 2nd highest plateau after Tibetan plateau. Deosai is located in south of Skardu city and it takes an hour by jeep from Skardu city.
Three of the world's major rivers, the Indus the Gangas and the Brahamputra all rise from the Himalayas.
The
Indus river runs south west from Tibetan plateau through Ladakh and then enters Pakistan near Skardu then it runs through
full length of Pakistan to the Arabian Sea. Indus river also marks the
boundary line between Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindukush and at one
point, at the confluence of Indus and Gilgit rivers all three great mountain
ranges of the world meet each other.

On
its way the Indus river is fed by the Jhelum, the Chenab, the Ravi, the
Beas, and the Sutlej rivers, which also trace their sources in the
western Himalyan regions of Kashmir. On the other hand most of the
eastern Himalayan rivers drain the Ganges-Brahmaputra Basin. The Ganges
and the Brahmaputra meet in Bangladesh, and drain into the Bay of
Bengal.
